Your role at Baxter 7th Shift (7:00am - 7:00pm) The Warehouse Specialist is an Hourly Non-Exempt position which contributes to our mission of saving and sustaining lives by packing, labeling and transferring IPSO product.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
  • Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematics.
  • Requires excellent skills and a 'can do' attitude.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with WMS, and Excel.
  • Minimum 5 years of office experience is required.
  • Knowledge and skills to operate several types of office equipment, which includes a computer system, a calculator, a two-way radio, Xerox machine, and a telephone with 4 operative lines is required.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve problems related to outbound activities.

  • Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor scheduled activities by shift with respect to orders, door assignments, dispatch of drayman, and contract carriers.
  • Notify logistics department of equipment shortages and related issues.
  • Prepare pull and drop schedule for drayage services.
  • Identify refrigeration requirements, schedule to work loads and ensure operability.
  • Prepare all documents and physical assignments necessary for shift start up to perform efficiently and productively on a daily basis.
  • Set up succeeding shift by prioritizing loads and assigning trailers to applicable dock doors by scheduled pick-up times.
  • Allocation of orders applicable dock doors by scheduled pick-up times.
  • Allocation of orders (resolve allocation issues), staging, and trailer assignments.
  • Direct order flow with material handler throughout the shift.
  • Perform order status inquiry for all completed orders.
  • Adjust orders as necessary when damages or shortages occur.
  • Print Bills of Lading, packing list, seal assignment and bar code assignment for each order.
  • Assign material handlers to place documents onto each load.
  • Monitor material handler progress throughout the shift to assure efficient completion of duties.
  • Assist driver with the process to follow when dropping empty trailer and picking up completed loads.
  • Manage process for correcting overweight trailers when they occur.
  • Assist material handler and supervisors in finding shortages, overages, and misplaced product that was stored in wrong locations on the dock.
  • Manages trailer pool by replacing 'bad ordered' trailers or directing those needing cleaning to shuttle.
  • Answer phone, take vacation request, and call in's for all shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, serve on QWT's and work overtime as needed.
  • Train backups and keep them up to date on changes in the outbound process.
  • Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality or discrepancy issues occur.
  • Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles including maintaining and securing provided tools.
