About The Position

AFO is looking for a Warehouse Specialist, Lead to work in Fort Hood, TX. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today! The Warehouse Specialist, Lead is assigned to the Storage Section of the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) and is responsible for the supervision, training, welfare and safety of assigned personnel. Responsible for the full execution of all tasks associated with the assigned area, i.e. inventories, issues, turn-ins, receipts, daily maintenance of assigned government equipment, bunker maintenance-inside and outside (vegetation control). This position involves working both indoors and outdoors. Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Military Occupational Specialties 55B/89B or 5 years of relevant work experience in ammo storage operations.
  • 2+ years of supervision/leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of Army logistical functions.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift license.
  • Microsoft Office Skills.
  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
  • Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation and obtain and maintain a CAC.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and ensure the welfare and safety of assigned personnel.
  • Execute all tasks associated with the assigned area, including inventories, issues, turn-ins, receipts, and maintenance of government equipment.
  • Load, unload, stack, and store ammunition, including rockets.
  • Review unit paperwork for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct informal safety inspections of vehicles entering the ASP.
  • Escort unit personnel into the ASP and identify correct ammunition by type, lot, and location.
  • Assist units with loading and securing loads using equipment like forklifts or dollies.
  • Maintain accountability of all items issued and make appropriate entries on the Magazine Data Card.
  • Inspect loaded vehicles for proper blocking and bracing and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist with the receipt of commercial vehicles transporting ammunition and manage storage.
  • Assist with inventories and screening of turn-in items.
  • Prepare outbound shipments of live or unserviceable ammunition and explosives.
  • Assist in packing, unpacking, inspection, and re-warehousing processes.

Benefits
