About The Position

Amentum, a global leader in mission solutions, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a SkillBridge intern to support a government contract based in California, Maryland This position is intended for transitioning military service members participating in the Department of Defense (DOD) SkillBridge Program who will be transitioning from active military duty within the next 6 months. Amentum is an Industry Partner of the Department of Defense (DOD) SkillBridge Program. SUMMARY Amentum is looking for a Warehouse Specialist Jr (Intern) position supports the Regional Maritime Awareness Capability (RMAC) program in California, MD. In this Warehouse Specialist Jr. (Admin Associate Jr.) position, incumbent shall be able to perform the full spectrum of Warehousing functional duties and responsibilities to include, but not limited to, assisting in receiving, inspecting, storing, preparing, shipping, and disposal of supplies related to Ground Supply operations. Responsibilities also include use of MS Office Suite including Excel. The incumbent shall be able to obtain an operators’ license for non-tactical and tactical Government-owned equipment.

Requirements

  • High School or GED equivalent and Four (0-4) years of relevant, progressive experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Phone use and PC or laptop.
  • Filing required.
  • May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.
  • It is important to be able to work at least 8 hours a day for 5 days per week (Monday through Friday).
  • Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.
  • The selected candidate must exhibit professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace.
  • Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military and contractor personnel at all levels.
  • Must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Grooming and dress are usually business casual, but dependent on client’s standards.
  • Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.

Nice To Haves

  • Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certified.
  • Forklift experience preferred. Must be able to obtain a forklift license within 45 days of start date.
