About The Position

The Warehouse Specialist III position at Fairfax Water involves assisting in the receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of supplies, materials, and equipment under the supervision of the Senior Warehouse Specialist. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient warehouse operations and ensuring that materials are accurately processed and delivered to various facilities and job sites.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school (or GED) and a minimum of one year experience in warehouse operations, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and knowledge.
• Working knowledge of warehouse and inventory practices.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to make basic arithmetical computations.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and all Warehouse Department clients.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) of material.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Ability to operate warehousing equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Picks and issues materials from stock to maintenance and construction crews.
• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Unpacks and stocks materials and supplies.
• Verifies the quality of materials and supplies received.
• Verifies all orders match the packing lists and purchase orders or similar documents.
• Assures stock is kept neat and orderly.
• Picks up materials from suppliers and/or delivers to various Fairfax Water facilities or job sites.
• Receives and issues inventory in SAP.
• Participates in the annual inventory.
• Reports to work as needed after hours, during inclement weather conditions and emergencies.
• Assures vehicles and warehouse equipment are properly maintained.
• Provides counter sales service to Fairfax Water customers.
• Performs custodial maintenance of the warehouse, offices, and property yard.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
