About The Position

The Warehouse Specialist ASP supports operations at the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) by performing all aspects of ammunition management, including receipt, storage, inventory, accountability, issue, maintenance, stock control, and shipment preparation in compliance with Army regulations.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have the potential to become ammunition certified within 24 months of assignment.
  • Must be knowledgeable of receiving, inspection, and storage procedures as outlined in DA PAM 385-64, FM 9-13, and DA PAM 710-2-2.
  • Must have a working knowledge of applicable ARs, TMs, PAMs, DoD, FORSCOM and TRADOC Regulations.
  • Certification is required, IAW TRADOC Reg 350-30 for all employees involved in munitions operations.
  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
  • Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation results, obtain and maintain a CAC.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Some familiarity with ammunition storage and supply functions strongly preferred.
  • Forklift/MHE operation certification (OF 346) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs ammunition receipt, storage, inventory & accountability, issue, maintenance, stock control, turn-in, and pre- and post-shipment operations procedures at the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP).
  • Loads, unloads, stacks, and stores ammunition, including rockets, at the ASP.
  • Reviews unit paperwork for accuracy and for compliance with existing regulations.
  • Conducts safety inspections of vehicles entering the ASP.
  • Escorts unit personnel into the ASP, and identifies the correct ammunition/pyrotechnics by type, lot and location, and issues same to unit personnel.
  • Assists unit with loading and securing the load and will forklift all palletized loads.
  • Maintains accountability of all items issued and makes appropriate entries on the Magazine Data Card.
  • Inspects loaded vehicles for proper blocking and bracing to ensure no violations of compatibility have occurred, and to ensure load is properly placarded prior to exiting the ASP.
  • May assist with the receipt of commercial vehicles/railcars transporting ammunition to Fort Sill and the ASP by unloading, segregating, and placing into storage, items contained in the shipment.
  • May be required to conduct routine serviceability inspections of ammunition brought or returned to the ASP.
  • Assists with quarterly closed inventories, and conducts 100% screening of turn-in items, including brass and residue, to ensure no live ammunition gets transported to the Defense Reutilization Management Office (DRMO).
  • May be required to assist with the preparation of outbound shipments of live or unserviceable ammunition and explosives.
  • May assist government QASAS personnel in the unpacking, inspection, renovation, re-warehousing process, to include re-marking, re-stenciling ammunition and containers.
  • Performs customer service and support functions for a wide range of customers and units. Must have a familiarity with procedures relating to both automated and non-automated customer units.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
