The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, workforce planning, and compliance with safety and quality standards. This role ensures operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high service levels to meet customer expectations. The Senior Operations Manager oversees all operating shifts and departments within the distribution center that could include the following departments: International Shipping (import/export), Co-Manufacturing Shipping/Receiving, & Overflow site management. Operational Leadership Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring timely and accurate order processing. Multi-Department Oversight-Import/Export, Co-Manufacturing, Overflow Site Management Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflow, reduce costs, and improve productivity. Ensure all KPI’s, metrics and sustainable profitability goals are met and maintained Assist management and engineering with site layout Continuously monitor space needs consolidating when possible Develop and maintain operating documents (Work inst., flow charts, Job descriptions) Develop and provide org chart for customers and associates Plan labor to follow production or customer needs Utilize labor for VAS (value added services) Remove excessive labor for profitability and efficiency Track and train associates to maximize utilization Assist in driver retention and turnover Identify and record performance measurements to align with customers’ goals or needs Provide format for recording measurements and update as needed to reach goals Add or remove goals to challenge operation to better serve the customer Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse supervisors and staff. Create staffing plans and oversee scheduling to meet operational demands. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with company policies, documenting coaching and corrective actions in accordance to disciplinary standards. Develop Staff by Cross Training/On-Job Training Ensure accurate inventory management and reconciliation. Implement quality assurance processes to minimize errors and returns. Coordinate cycle counts and audits. Enforce OSHA, DOT, company and customer safety standards. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Conduct monthly safety training and inspections. Provide reports based on customers’ needs Capture relevant information to be used during review periods
