About The Position

The Warehouse Senior Lead Person is responsible for production personnel, processes, and performance to safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum three years’ experience in leadership in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with oral and written communication including telephone conversation.
  • Ability to operate proficiently a PC computer; use effectively word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications.
  • Ability to draft and format memos, emails, spreadsheets, and graphs.
  • Ability to navigate and perform duties in enterprise ERP and timekeeping software systems.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to interpret company and departmental financial data.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the supervision of personnel and is responsible for the activities in their area of responsibility.
  • Assures that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
  • Responsible for the safety of personnel, processes, equipment, and housekeeping of the area.
  • Responsible for ensuring all processes, equipment, and personnel are meeting quality standards.
  • Ensures training and cross-training is conducted, effective, and training records are maintained.
  • Assists Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager with employee development and administrative duties.
  • Assists Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager with timekeeping by verifying accuracy of clock punches, reconciling time-clock exceptions and performing inter-departmental time transfers.
  • Assists Supervisor and/or Manager with employee scheduling and assignment of manpower to meet warehouse schedules.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment in area of responsibility.
  • Leads operational efficiency by reviewing manpower and equipment requirements based on warehouse needs.
  • Reports and follows up on all process and equipment problems.
  • Troubleshoots problems and participates in problem solving teams.
  • Identifies, recommends, and assists in the implementation of measures to improve warehouse methodologies
  • Verifies correct identification, handling, and storage of materials.
  • Coordinates and maintains visual controls used within warehouse areas.
  • Responsible for ensuring adherence to the policies and procedures of the quality standard TS16949 and environmental ISO 14001 standard.
