The Warehouse Safety Specialist will support our warehouse safety and compliance programs within the Distribution Center. The Warehouse Safety Specialist is an extension of our management team and the core focus is to ensure the appropriate processes and protocols are in place to maintain the company's safety philosophy and culture. The Warehouse Safety Specialist is a leader with safety know-how, business acumen, and the ability to positively influence outcomes that drive results within the safety department. The Warehouse Safety Specialist will work closely with the National Safety Manager and the Operations Management team to provide support related to safety, compliance and risk.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
  • Warehouse experience Required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Power Point are required

  • OSHA-10 Hour Certification preferred.

  • Capability of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints.

  • Must stay current on all local, state, and federal rules and regulations as they pertain to OSHA safety and compliance.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a "safety culture" by engaging personnel at all levels and drive the success of safety initiatives.
  • Coordinate the new hire orientation and onboarding process as it relates to safety and compliance.
  • Champion KeHE's Harm-to-None (H2O) Program by promoting "all accidents are preventable".
  • Partner with warehouse operations to ensure in-depth injury investigations are conducted.
  • Partner with local HR Business Partner to facilitate post-accident Root Cause Analysis identifying corrective & preventative actions.
  • Ensure all employees/new hires have been trained on company Safety Rules and Regulations and conducts all MHE/PIT Operator training and certifications.
  • Facilitate safety committee meetings and review incident/accident trends and safety opportunities.
  • Coordinate regular safety training requirements and record trainings to ensure compliance with county, state and federal regulations .
  • Assist and train Operations Management to ensure post incident/accident procedures are followed.
  • Lead Accident Reporting & Treatment (ART) packet on all post incidents/accidents at the facility with Human Resources Business Partner and the Operations Management team.
  • Serve as a local resource for safety issues, as well as conduct all safety meetings and annual audits.
  • Regularly review Job Safety Analysis for accuracy and provide refresher training as needed.
  • Report all incidents/accidents/risk to Director of Operations and HR Business Partner.
