About The Position

The Warehouse Receiving associate will receive and document incoming freight and verify the accuracy of items against packing slips and purchase orders. Requirements

  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic knowledge and ability to use a computer.

Responsibilities

  • Document all incoming freight.
  • Verify the accuracy of received items against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Unload merchandise from delivery trucks using various warehouse equipment.
  • Inspect received items for damages, defects, or discrepancies.
  • Ensure that the quality of received goods meets established standards.
  • Complete and maintain accurate receiving documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to communicate shipment details and resolve discrepancies.
  • Report any issues with received items promptly to the appropriate personnel.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, etc.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while in the warehouse.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to supervisors.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • All other duties as assigned.
