About The Position

The Reach Operator is responsible for accurately scanning, storing, and replenishing product within the warehouse using a reach truck and RF system. This role ensures product is properly put away, inventory is maintained at appropriate levels, and picking locations remain stocked to support efficient order fulfillment. This role is not a primary order selection position and focuses on inventory movement, putaway, and replenishment. The Reach Operator plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, product rotation, and overall warehouse organization in a fast-paced, multi-temperature foodservice distribution environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate or learn to operate a reach truck and other warehouse equipment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic counting for inventory accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in multiple temperature zones, including refrigerated and freezer environments (as low as –10°F)
  • Ability to repeatedly lift, push, pull, and reach overhead with objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating a reach truck, forklift, or pallet jack
  • Experience using RF scanning systems or warehouse management systems
  • Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Experience in foodservice distribution or high-volume warehouse operations
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Operate reach truck and other warehouse equipment to move and store product safely and efficiently
  • Utilize RF scanning system to receive, scan, and put away incoming pallets to proper warehouse locations
  • Replenish picking locations to ensure product availability for order selection
  • Maintain proper product rotation and ensure FIFO inventory practices are followed
  • Organize and maintain assigned aisles to ensure accurate product placement and minimize mis-picks
  • Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies or shortages to leadership
  • Identify and report damaged product to supervisor
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of products to maintain quality and integrity
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs as required
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support efficient warehouse operations
  • Support overall warehouse operations as needed, including inventory movement and product handling
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
