About The Position

Our Plover production plant in Wisconsin is hiring seasonal employees to conduct Reconditioning duties.  The position is responsible for inspecting, documenting, sorting, and reconditioning held products to ensure only safe, high-quality products are released for shipment. This role supports quality assurance, food safety, and production operations by reviewing pallet paperwork, evaluating cans for defects, maintaining accurate records, and following all instructions related to hold product, rejections, x-ray checks, fill height checks, and swells. The position works closely with QA, stock control, production, warehouse, and crew leaders to verify held products, remove defective cans, document exceptions, and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and timely. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow procedures, and comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Daily cleaning duties within general warehouse floor areas, break rooms/employee areas, restrooms, office areas, entrances, dock areas, floors and surfaces, offices, cafeteria, laboratory, breakrooms, and hallways.
  • Review holds paperwork and confirms it matches pallets being reconditioned.
  • Complete daily reports, hold reports, and all required documentation accurately.
  • Record pallets start times, tag numbers, case quantities, ship IDs or SAP numbers, and product variety codes.
  • Inspect cans for defects including swells, x-ray rejects, fill rejects, FM rejects, dents, duds, and other abnormalities.
  • Pull sample cans and document printer letter, period code, and can mark information.
  • Save unknown swells, x-ray rejects, FM rejects, and duds for QA evaluation.
  • Properly label and tag retained cans with pallet information, date, hold number, and reason for retention.
  • Verify fill height detectors, x-ray equipment, dud detectors, and other inspection equipment are functioning properly before use.
  • Complete required detector checks before the hold begins, between pallets, and after the last pallet.
  • Start new paperwork forms daily or when continuing a hold from a previous day.
  • Remove hard or soft swells when detected and properly dispose of known defects.
  • Safely stop equipment when necessary to inspect or collect cans from a layer.
  • Record all swells and defects on the reconditioning form.
  • Communicate issues, discrepancies, or recurring defects to QA, crew leaders, or supervisors.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas while following all safety, GMP, and food safety requirements.
