About The Position

Warehouse Picker III / Sales is responsible for driving upselling and sales activities while overseeing the order fulfillment process. This includes engaging customers to identify additional product needs, filling customer orders accurately, organizing merchandise in the warehouse, packaging products, and maintaining precise inventory records.

Requirements

Sales and Customer Service Skills – Ability to identify upsell opportunities, build customer relationships, and recommend appropriate salt products (e.g., water softener salt, ice melt, rock salt).
Communication Skills – Strong verbal and written communication to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
Organizational Skills – Ability to manage multiple orders, maintain accurate inventory records, and keep the warehouse organized.
Attention to Detail – Ensures accuracy in order picking, packaging, and inventory tracking.
Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to resolve customer inquiries and address order or product issues promptly.
Physical Ability – Capable of lifting and moving heavy bags of salt and working in a warehouse environment.
Technical Skills – Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer proficiency for CRM and order entry.
Time Management – Efficiently prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, logistics, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, including order picking, inventory management, and packaging.
Proven experience in sales or upselling, preferably in industrial or bulk products such as salt (water softener, ice melt, rock salt).

Responsibilities

Assists team members in the process of obtaining merchandise from bins or shelves and ensures the completeness and correctness of all orders filled.
Builds and maintains a network of contacts and industry sources to identify opportunities for upselling salt products to existing customers.
Communicates with current customers to understand their needs for salt products such as water softener salt, ice melt, rock salt, etc.; recommends appropriate solutions to meet those needs.
Handle documentation associated with shipments, including bills of lading and delivery confirmations.
Analyzes customer purchasing patterns and seasonal demand to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
Safely operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts and order pickers, sorting, scanning, and otherwise preparing shipments for delivery.
Accurately select products from designated areas based on order tickets and ensure batches of orders are processed efficiently.
Verify all items selected for orders match the corresponding paperwork, packing items into boxes or shipping containers as needed.
Work collaboratively with team members during peak times and to ensure delivery deadlines are met.
Diligently follow company policies and procedures to ensure customer satisfaction and accuracy of order processing.
Maintain an organized, clean and safe warehouse, upholding all compliance and safety regulations.
Comply with safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe driving practices.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
