This labor-intensive position is responsible for hand building pallets of product for bulk, and route trucks. Each type of loading requires strict attention to order accuracy with respect to loading outgoing trucks and unloading incoming trucks. The role involves working from an Electronic order system or order sheets to build loads using a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. The position holder is responsible for accuracy in loading and complying with shipper/receiver documentation, following warehouse instructions in building loads, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The position may require working across a wide variety of weather conditions and hours, with shift duration depending on workload and varying daily. Specific duties include transport truck loading (moving full pallets from warehouse to trailer, removing returned pallets/flats, unloading raw materials), bulk truck loading (selecting products, loading onto pallets, maintaining stability through stacking and shrink-wrapping, unloading returned products/flats), and route truck loading (selecting customized products/pallets for specific salesperson orders, loading into trucks, unloading returned products/pallets/flats). The role demands lifting a very high volume of cases of product per day (20-45 pounds per case) repeatedly during long work periods, and requires constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping as product is moved.
