Overview: Ascendance is looking for a Warehouse/ Parts Delivery Driver. The Warehouse/ Parts Delivery Driver is responsible for performing warehousing activities, inventory control, record keeping, delivering parts to customers and for picking up parts from suppliers for the dealership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • General understanding of the various functions of a warehouse.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds and ability to work at heights of 25 feet or more.
  • Ability to use a forklift or willingness to be certified within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Check in all daily incoming shipments for all vendors.
  • Put away all incoming stock in the appropriate bin location
  • Check in all incoming inter-branch shipments from all branches.
  • Pull all customer orders as indicated on the picking list and place in either will call, package for shipment, or dispatch for delivery.
  • Maintain all parts in "will call" by ensuring that all parts pulled are placed in the appropriate "will call" bin and all paperwork associated with the order is placed with the parts.
  • Picks up and delivers parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
  • Checks with the parts manager, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last minute pick-ups or deliveries.
  • Verify payments received against the invoices for each delivery.
  • Keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups. Requests recipient's signature on each delivery entry.
  • Load vehicle with appropriate parts for deliveries.
  • Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed.
  • Advises parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
  • Helps maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
  • Maintains professional appearance.
  • Helps with stock orders when they arrive to expedite delivery.
