Warehouse Order Picker/Forklift Operator
About The Position
As an Order Picker/ Forklift Operator, you play a crucial role in our warehouse operations by accurately selecting and preparing orders for shipment. You will be responsible for efficiently locating products from storage areas, picking according to orders, and preparing them for shipping to our customers. The Order Picker ensures that all picked items are in good condition, properly labeled, and ready for timely dispatch. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor at Josam Company located in Michigan City, IN. This role is onsite and is based in Michigan City, IN. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience using warehouse management software (WMS) or similar systems.
- Proven ability to work independently.
- Previous forklift and order picking experience is required along with the ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Detail-orientated with strong organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of production procedures and equipment (training will be provided).
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts as needed.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of plumbing or drainage parts is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operator forklift to navigate the warehouse and pull orders as per the picking lists.
- Ensure accurate picking by verifying part numbers, quantities, and locations.
- Safely load and unload material onto pallets or shelving.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist in other warehouse duties such as receiving, shipping and inventory management as needed.
- Always adhere to Safety standard and protocols.
