About the Role As a Warehouse Associate at Wheatland Tube at Zekelman Industries, Rochelle, IL, this role supports warehouse and distribution operations by picking, packing, and loading steel tube and pipe in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. Under direct supervision, this position operates standard warehouse equipment to ensure efficient material handling while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and quality.

Requirements

• Warehouse experience, preferred, including experience in steel, tubing, or similar industrial environments
• Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to perform basic math for accurate order processing
• Strong communication skills to support collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Problem-solving skills to address day-to-day warehouse challenges
• High attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and adherence to quality standards
• Perform work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required
• Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
• Operate material-handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Meet additional physical requirements as needed for the role

Responsibilities

• Champion and enforce safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Prepare materials, products, and equipment for distribution and shipment
• Process and fulfill orders for customers and internal teams
• Pick, pack, and stage orders while verifying accuracy using scanning tools
• Load shipments onto flatbed trucks or LTL carriers
• Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials, reporting damages as required
• Replenish warehouse stock and rotate inventory using reach trucks or forklifts
• Operate forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, and walkie rider pallet jacks to move materials efficiently
• Standardize and optimize shipping and receiving procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse operations
• Maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance
