About The Position

The Warehouse Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other warehouse equipment. This role ensures accurate picking, staging, and loading of customer orders while adhering to all safety procedures and supporting company performance goals. The position executes all inbound, internal, and outbound warehouse and logistics activities in alignment with company standards. The role also requires a working knowledge of critical elements of Safety, Logistics, Quality, and Production to effectively monitor operations, take appropriate action, and provide training or support to peers as needed.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years forklift operator experience in a warehouse environment, or related work experience
  • High school diploma (G.E.D.) or equivalent
  • Effectively read, write and verbally communicate using the English language

Responsibilities

  • Participate in safety, health and environmental programs and adhere to safety and quality protocols including, but not limited to, wearing PPE to protect associate from potential hazards.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely with forklift operation comprising approximately 80% of the work shift.
  • Conduct routine job risk analyses and suggest updates to standard work procedures as needed.
  • Pulling and double-checking orders by using RF scanners with the WMS (Warehouse Management System) Module of SAP. Perform inventory inspections, including batch and product number verification, requiring walking for about 15% of the shift.
  • Perform assigned shipping duties that may include restocking and occasionally lifting 50 lb. bags of product, picking up deliveries and general housekeeping for about 5% of the shift.
  • Responsible for staging pallets, preparing ASN’s, bills of lading and COA, etc.
  • Perform assigned receiving duties that may include; verifying shipments, unloading trucks, performing SAP receiving activities, etc.
  • Responsible for 5S activities to ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Support and assist management in further developing best practices for Logistics operation procedures and standards.
  • Be able to work both independently and in a group setting.
  • Responsible for accurate inventory and cycle count activities on a daily basis.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement workshops dealing with areas such as; Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, lean process flow.
  • Participate in warehouse meetings and review defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) with Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Experience using MS Office suite software.
  • Assist peers with technical training and support defined continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to cross train in additional areas to support plant operations.
  • Assist production and packaging departments, and Shift Supervisor as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
