About The Position

As a Warehouse Operator you are responsible for learning multiple functions within the Warehouse environment including forklift driving, checking, and tote/drum handling. Within these functions various equipment and systems must be used to effectively and safely verify materials, deliver materials (inbound & outbound), and properly manage dunnage in accordance with internal procedures.

Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma or G.E.D. (No Exceptions)
  • Must be able to pass a Drug and Background Screen (No Exceptions)
  • Must have at least 1 year Forklift or Hi-Lo Driving experience (No Exceptions)
  • 2-3 years related job experience required.
  • Experience operating PIV in a high hazard and space confined work environment required.
  • Experience in customer service and or order fulfillment required.
  • Wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed
  • Completes Department of Transportation (DOT) regulation training and all IATA shipping and receiving certification requirements.
  • Follow all site safety rules and procedures; and be an active participant with Axalta safety near miss reporting.
  • Completes all required internal and external training related to safety (TLMs)
  • Must complete CFR training and maintain certification.
  • Participate and support site internal and external safety audits.
  • Must be able to operate safely and properly handle high hazard (S-Code) materials for the site.
  • Active participant with Axalta continuous improvement program (Kaizen Reporting)
  • Completes assigned tasks following proper processes to ensure compliance with inventory record accuracy (IRA)
  • Supports internal & external audits as necessary.
  • Understands proper loading procedures and customer requirements.
  • Understand and follows ISO-9001 and TS-16949 standards.
  • Practices lean manufacturing standards such as pre-stagging shipments
  • Understands customer sales force complaints related to job specific tasks (CAT I – CAT VII; ABC).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to properly interpret shipping paperwork (BOLS, Packing Lists, Customs Paperwork, Trucking Paperwork, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft excel, word, outlook, TEAMS, SAP S4 Hanna, Customer specific portals.
  • Must be able to interact with Driver and ensure all shipping paperwork and placards are in order.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must be able to lift to 50lbs repeatedly.

  • Licensed PIV Operator preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and deliver requested stock to the production floor.
  • Unload inbound trailers.
  • Use hand-held bar code scanners to relieve and add to plant inventory.
  • Very critical to ensure inventory accuracy and maintain customer supply.
  • Maintain area safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Confirm Transfer Orders for Outbound Deliveries
  • Stage loads for shipments
  • Load shipment on designated carriers
  • Accurately and timely put stock away
  • Pallet/Bin consolidation
  • Assist with area Cycle Counting
  • Empty waste bins
  • Supply production with containers, pallets, etc.
  • Checks, processes, and clears customers’ orders for shipments.
  • Sorts, arranges, and labels all the goods in the warehouse
  • Receives and examines all incoming and outgoing goods on behalf of the organization.
  • Collaborates with the procurement and sales department of the organization to ensure regular availability of goods
  • Keeps inventory or record of the movement of goods in and out of the warehouse.
  • Band and shrink wrap drums for shipments.
  • When receiving inbound materials must ensure electronic and physical accuracy to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Communicate with suppliers, vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Controls both inbound and outbound trucking logistics with security and the area.
  • Assists with area cycle counting.
  • Procures and delivers drums/totes to manufacturing departments as requested.
  • Inventories drums/totes on site
  • Receives and unloads drums and totes that arrive on site
  • Loading of empty dirty drums/totes on trailers to be removed from the site.
  • Communicates with Supply Chain inventory of drums, totes, pails to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained.
  • Accurately scan empty containers so inventory is removed from the electronic system.
  • Maintains daily Kanban sheet and communicates across the plant.
  • Maintain and ship FedEx packages for entire site.
  • Perform weekly cycle count tasks.
  • Support movement of materials to and from offsite warehouse.
  • Deliver needed materials to cathodic shipping area to support production.
  • Remove new materials from Resin storage pad and place in designated receiving warehouse location.
  • Supports local training processes as needed.
  • Supports import and export teams as needed for inbound raw materials or customer shipments leaving the United States
