Warehouse Operator I/Utility Responsible for cleaning railcars, moving railcars, loading/unloading railcars, assisting with feed load out, and feeding in bagged flour. Maintaining the sanitary conditions of the facility while following all Food Safety Policies and GMPs, completing Sanitation and IPM work orders as needed. The PLW Utility will work be able to work any shift (1st/2nd/3rd shifts) and occasionally 12 hour shifts depending on scheduling needs for purposes of covering other PLW Utilities and Warehouse Operator III sick days, vacation days, or other long term PLW Utility and Warehouse Operator III absences.

  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a dust mask
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written/verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Get qualified for Warehouse Operator III
  • Routine cleaning of floors, stairs, equipment, roofs and outside grounds. Use brooms, shovels, dust mop as needed. Blow down overheads as needed.
  • Specialized cleaning & repair tasks such as bin cleanings, filter sock changes, and other equipment cleaning as needed.
  • Dump barrels into trash or other receptacles.
  • Shovel product as needed.
  • Feed in bags, ability to frequently handle individual 50lb bags with proper tracking documentation.
  • Performs all Food Safety Tasks in work area, keeps up with MSS tasks and signs off at the appropriate frequencies.
  • Responsible for understanding and following all personnel and equipment safety and food safety policies; IPM/Sanitation policies; following all Business Unit policies and procedures.
  • Follows all GMP’s.
  • Ascend and Descend stairs throughout the facility.
  • Climb ladders
  • Will legibly complete documentation for their specific areas.
  • Work periodically in confined spaces.
  • Will be required to operate mobile equipment, including forklift and trackmobile. Will receive training and certification in mobile equipment operation as appropriate.
  • Wear required PPE, including fitted respiratory protection.
  • Work periodically in elevated heights.
  • Wear full body harness as needed.
  • Must be able to follow cleaning instructions, policies, and procedures for load out areas.
  • Must be able to follow cleaning instructions, policies, and procedure for railcars.
  • Must be able to receive and unload flour from railcars into the facility.
  • Coordinate with Lab personnel on product quality and documentation.
  • Must be able follow the railcar seal policy and procedure and complete seal verifications.
  • Must understand how to properly use all rail safety equipment.
  • Must understand the proper way to use equipment for loading and unloading of railcars in a safe manner.
  • Must be fully competent in the bulk loading systems, functions, and flow.
  • Must be able to efficiently and safely move railcars using the trackmobile.
  • Must be familiar with the basic flow of the bulk feed equipment and systems.
  • Must be able to facilitate the feed truck loading process and handle all paperwork.
  • Any other sanitation or cleaning task assigned to complete to maintain our Environmental, Health, Safety and Food Safety Standards.
  • Must possess and utilize effective communication and personal interaction skills with all external and inter-departmental plant personnel associated to ensure maximum operational efficiency
