About The Position

The Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of a Warehouse Operator 2 located at the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center in Connell, WA. This is for a full-time, permanent position. Coyote Ridge Corrections Center (CRCC) is located on a 60-acre site about 40 miles north of the Tri Cities. CRCC is comprised of two-complexes. The Main Security Complex (MSC) is a 2,048-bed facility that houses offenders with Medium and MI3 Custody. MSC consists of 4 Hybrid units and 4 Medium units. The Minimum-Security Unit (MSU) is a 600-bed facility that houses assisted living and MI2 Custody offenders. MSU consists of 2 units. This is a work/program orientated facility that offers many educational, vocational, and self-help programs and Class II and Class III Correctional Industries work programs. Whether the work is inside a prison, in community corrections, or in an administrative office, the Washington State DOC professional staff experience a high degree of personal satisfaction knowing they are creating environments in which all incarcerated individuals can learn to make choices that contribute to a safer society.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Physical ability to do the required work
  • Valid driver's license required and must be maintained for employment
  • Basic computer experience and Microsoft Office literacy

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle
  • One year of clerical or technical experience in retail clerking, warehousing, stock keeping, shipping, or receiving and operation of material handling equipment
  • Intermediate computer experience and Microsoft Office literacy

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehousing duties in the CRCC Warehouse under the direction of the Warehouse Operator 4
  • Effectively manage inventories
  • Maintain key control
  • Execute and maintain tool control processes
  • Monitors assigned email/mail box(es)
  • Receive shipments, inspect for condition and accuracy
  • Collaborate with Correctional Industries
  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates Incarcerated Individual workers according to Department policies and provided training
  • Account for incarcerated individual workers
  • Document and provide feedback on incarcerated individual's job performance and behavior
  • Maintain security and discipline over incarcerated individual workers
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping for incarcerated individuals
