The Warehouse Operations Supervisor at Pitney Bowes is responsible for overseeing the production workers on the 2nd shift at the Presort Services facility in Reading, PA. This role involves organizing mail flow, ensuring productivity standards are met, and supporting the team in delivering optimal postage savings for clients. The supervisor will also handle various supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, training, and performance management, while ensuring compliance with USPS regulations and company policies.

  • Organize the mail flow on the production floor by assigning workers and assessing volumes and types of mail.
  • Oversee production workers on the designated shift.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, train, and appraise performance of employees.
  • Reward and discipline employees as necessary, addressing complaints and solving problems.
  • Ensure quality functions are maintained throughout the production area.
  • Follow Total Quality Management (TQM) processes and procedures.
  • Assist Warehouse Operations Manager in completing USPS and internal reports, job costing reports, and applying USPS postal regulations.
  • Communicate pertinent information clearly and concisely between shifts.
  • Suggest improvements for efficiency in equipment use, working conditions, and employee motivation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum of one year supervisory experience in presort, mailroom, or associated industries with familiarity of USPS requirements.
  • Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in a production or mailing industry environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and/or MS Access, along with basic knowledge of MS Word, internet, and email.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or current maximum allowed by the state.
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time with or without accommodation.
  • Willingness to work as needed, including weekends, holidays, and different shifts with limited or no advance notice.
  • Flexible work schedule with no set amount of vacation per year.
  • Annual base salary range of $60,000 with a 6% field bonus.
