About The Position

The Warehouse Operations Manager I is responsible for overseeing the efficient day-to-day operations of a warehouse, focusing on personnel management and the implementation of action plans. This role involves managing a warehouse space of 100,000 to 500,000 sq. ft., ensuring compliance with operational standards, and maintaining equipment and safety protocols. The position reports directly to the General Manager of the Distribution Center.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of warehouse/mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations and willingness to become certified as necessary.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle changing priorities.
  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean/Six Sigma tools is a plus.
  • Excellent talent management and team building skills.
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills with external clients.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with seasonal workforces is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a strategic plan in conjunction with the General Manager to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Ensures efficient shipping and receiving work schedules to meet operational goals.
  • Directs the operations of warehouse supervisors and personnel.
  • Oversees all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Audits compliance with internal and external SOPs.
  • Ensures efficient utilization of equipment.
  • Reviews daily work objectives and determines productivity requirements for shifts.
  • Partners with other leaders to balance labor and staffing levels based on workload.
  • Conducts workload analysis compared to labor hours and equipment usage.
  • Plans long-term labor needs based on sales forecasts and historical data.
  • Makes recommendations to improve warehouse operations.
