The Warehouse Merchandise Handler plays a crucial role in the distribution center, primarily responsible for handling full cases of products. This position involves consistent lifting of cartons and merchandise onto and off conveyor lines, pallets, and other storage containers. The Merchandise Handler will load and unload cartons based on predetermined processes, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely. The current compensation for this position is $18.50 per hour, which includes a Fall Peak Premium effective until December 23, 2023. In this role, the Merchandise Handler will spend at least 50% of their working hours lifting cartons and merchandise. Responsibilities also include receiving merchandise into the Distribution Center, maintaining case quantities for picking operations, and palletizing outbound products. Inspecting merchandise items to ensure they meet quality and brand specifications is essential. The ability to comprehend and follow written, verbal, and computer-delivered directions is necessary, along with utilizing math skills to verify quantities, make adjustments, and complete order paperwork accurately. The position requires operating the Warehouse Management System (WMS), radio frequency scanners, and other equipment necessary for job duties. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify products and match numbers are critical for success in this role. The Merchandise Handler must also verify documentation and information to facilitate the flow of merchandise through the distribution center. The position typically reports to the DC Supervisor and does not have any direct reports. Candidates should be prepared to maintain flexibility regarding job assignments, including working in other departments, brands, and locations, as well as being available for mandatory overtime.
