About The Position

This is a full-time, day shift Warehouse Materials Associate II position at Carilion Clinic's facility in Roanoke, VA. Carilion Clinic is a not-for-profit, mission-driven health system headquartered in Roanoke, Va., with award-winning hospitals, trauma centers, a NICU, Institutes of Orthopedics and Neurosciences, and multi-specialty physician practices. The role involves handling all aspects of incoming freight delivered to the Carilion Warehouse, including receiving, stocking, and driving a forklift. The associate will be part of a courageous team that is always learning, collaborating, and valuing ideas, contributing to transforming healthcare.

Requirements

  • Ability to receive, stock and drive a forklift when needed.
  • Maintain Proper Drivers License and Health Card (Driving record as required by Carilion policy).

Responsibilities

  • Receive, stock and drive a forklift when needed.
  • Perform standard receiving and stocking tasks, such as unloading delivery trucks, sorting items by receiving priority, identifying and documenting damaged deliveries, rotating inventory, storing materials for easy access at primary pick locations, and performing quality assurance (QA) activities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to requesters / end users, buyers, and other warehouse teams.
  • Inspect and sign for deliveries.
  • Communicate consistently with the Inventory Team on all shipment discrepancies.
  • Work with fellow members of the warehouse team to identify and address items that should be prioritized for receiving (i.e., patient specific, rush and hot orders).
  • Utilize an Inventory Management System to ensure that received item quantities are accurately entered in and, when needed, discrepancies are properly documented in the inventory management system and on packing slips.
  • Maintain a well-organized delivery record system.
  • Efficiently resolve all order-related inquiries / requests within service portal software as needed.
  • Stock items utilizing the inventory management system.
  • Accurately and consistently create and maintain all back stock process.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service for other warehouse employees and downstream customers by performing scheduled and as-needed QA activities, including inspecting and maintaining the cleanliness of inventory racks, bins, and labels.
  • Escalate item discrepancies, order-delivery inconsistencies, and quality standard exceptions to leadership.
  • Load and unload medical items from Carilion vehicles and ensure specimens, medicines, equipment, or documents are properly maintained and safely secured based on specific company requirements.
  • Transport and deliver the applicable items to the correct destinations in a timely manner and based on routing specifications.
  • Adhere to and observe proper fleet operations and regulations including DOT and OSHA.
  • Maintain vehicles and observe safety procedures as part of a daily routine.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip maintenance and safety inspection.
