The Warehouse & Materials Manager at Timken is responsible for overseeing all activities related to shipping, receiving, packing, transportation planning, and inventory management. This role involves planning and implementing policies to optimize inventory control, reduce waste, and ensure efficient material flow throughout the facility. The manager will lead a team, collaborate with other departments, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards while meeting customer expectations for quality and delivery.

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory and WIP records using the ERP system (Epicor) and data analysis tools.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Manager on supply chain management processes from procurement to distribution, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  • Implement best practices for inventory control, including cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes.
  • Achieve 95% or better on-time shipment performance by adjusting schedules and managing employee assignments.
  • Meet customer expectations for quality of packaging, packing, and value-added services as outlined by the customer.
  • Analyze inventory turnover rates and develop strategies to reduce excess stock while meeting customer demand.
  • Train and supervise staff involved in inventory management functions, promoting a culture of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide a clean and safe work environment for employees, adhering to Timken safety standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Manage the flow of material throughout the facility for all internal and external manufacturing operations.
  • Implement and manage a visibility board that includes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met in accordance with Local, State, Federal, Government, and Military guidelines.
  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Operations/Management or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of applicable experience in inventory management or a related field within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, especially in development and effective delegation.
  • Proven experience in supply chain management principles and materials management practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools for effective reporting and decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Computer proficiency with working knowledge of MRP/ERP software and Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).
