About The Position

The position involves performing various functions related to the preparation, receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, shipment, and movement of materials with a focus on accuracy and safety. The role may require operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, coordinating shipments, and maintaining inventory control. The candidate will also assist in training new employees and may need to communicate with suppliers and carriers regarding material movement.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of two years of related experience preferred.
• Previous experience operating forklifts highly desirable.
• Experience with PC based software, data entry, and ORACLE desirable.
• Experience with RF barcode scanning desired.
• Effective interaction and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, DOT random drug test, and written/driving test to obtain a CDL license.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of functions associated with the preparation, receipt, inspection, storage, issue, shipment, and movement of material with a high level of accuracy.
• Operate forklift and/or other material handling equipment after successful completion of OSHA/Pearson training.
• Plan and carry out necessary activities to meet established schedules in a fast-paced environment.
• Coordinate, track, and monitor the unloading and/or loading of shipments.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner, maintaining safety as the highest priority.
• Follow established inventory control policies and procedures, maintaining high levels of accuracy in inventory record keeping.
• Assist in the training of new and seasonal employees.
• Exchange information with outside suppliers and carriers regarding material movement.
• Work overtime and off shifts when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
