The Material Handler is responsible for, but not limited to, performing quality checks, making necessary adjustments to process equipment, and regrinding materials. Essential Functions: The daily duties of the Material Handler include, but are not limited to, the following activities. Ensure the forklift is fully functional and in safe operating condition, perform/document daily inspections, and successfully complete the material handler and forklift training programs. Prepare each machine for an efficient changeover and control the technical material handler color changes. Ensure all the raw materials, components, or accessories staged at each machine match the work order, bill of material item numbers. Ensure adequate quantities of material are in the machine for processing. Remove unnecessary raw materials and components from the production area. Note: Ensure that the white ticket is completed and affixed to the completed product. Material Handlers must verify ticket information, including the count, before removing any stack, pallet, or cage from the machines, and then they must initial the white copy. If an error occurs, it must be corrected, or the shift supervisor must be notified accordingly. The material handler is responsible for collecting all white copies of the production tickets and turning them in to the shift supervisor at the end of the 8-hour shift. Remove the finished product from the production area to the designated staging area and/or assigned truck, and shrink-wrap all completed pallets of boxes. Remove all scrap and waste from the production area as necessary. Follow the Production Ticket Procedure, 60034, which includes initialing the tickets for lids and boxes before moving the pallets and cages; cart tickets are initially not required. Provide relief for production personnel and assist in the training of new employees as necessary. Supply the Packers with inventory control accessories and tools. Perform all documentation and product control functions as instructed.
