About The Position

A receiving material handler checks and unloads incoming shipments. He or she verifies that the correct types and amounts of items were shipped and inspects the goods to ensure their quality and then prepares the product for put-away. Additionally, the receiving material handler will assist in replenishments to active pick area from bulk and collect and bail cardboard.

Requirements

Experience in a warehouse setting is preferred, but willing to train the right person
Ability to communicate in English and Spanish, both verbal and written
Basic skillset in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word)
Ability to work independently and/or in a team setting.
Position has physical requirements and must be able to lift 35lb boxes on a routine basis. Must be able to routinely stand up between 75%-100% per working day.

Responsibilities

Unload trucks and sign bills in a timely manner
Unloading containers requires constant lifting and moving products up to 35 lbs. overhead for 2-hour periods.
Safely operate warehouse equipment to ensure a safe work environment
Report any forklift issues to ensure they are properly fixed by a trained technician.
Communicate any issues and report any accidents to the manager immediately.
Keep work zone clean and orderly and help maintain a safe and clean work environment
Move product from bulk area to active pick as needed
Put away inbound products into bulk locations in a timely manner
Perform cycle counts as needed
Assist in bi-yearly physical inventory
Perform other duties and tasks not listed as requested by the Operations Manager
