Your role at Baxter Responsible for coordinating the development of all shipments, including raw materials for manufacturing support, intermediates (WIP) and finished goods with domestic and international transportation. In additional, responsible for the management and execution of all shipping documentation. Functions include complex spreadsheet analysis of critical transportation / carrier performance data and expediting critical and time-sensitive shipments. Able to work with less supervision on complex assignments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 3-5 years of experience in any combination of: inventory management / warehousing, logistics / traffic coordinator or manufacturing.
  • Strong PC computer skills (Word, Excel), JD Edwards preferred
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, organizational and communication skills and attention to detail required.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, while also providing strong leadership
  • Ability to work under time sensitive constraints and prioritizing tasks while making decisions under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to set goals and meet commitments
  • Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Must not be allergic to penicillin or cephalosporin drugs.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as process owner for outbound shipments of finished goods inventory to distribution centers and customers, which includes all necessary shipping documentation.
  • Enforce the compliance of departments such as: US department of Commerce, FDA, DOT as it pertains to the transportation of goods domestically and internationally
  • Create/design complex tools and methods to distribute information to customers and suppliers.
  • Control logistics process and develop strategies to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for owning shipping metrics, which includes data entry, updating and reporting
  • Create and own the process of scheduling all inbound deliveries of raw materials while collaborating with Supply Chain Planners
  • Owns communication with distribution centers and supply chain to identify and meet customer requirements which also includes efficient and effective solutions to accommodate short lead time orders.
  • Uses Warehouse Management System (WMS) to create load build and necessary shipping documents for material handlers to use in assembling and shipping of finished goods orders.
  • Initiate and lead in cross-functional areas, drive initiatives to completion and work on more complex assignments
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Design, lead and implement programs to achieve these improvements
  • Responsible for timely adjustment to orders as necessary when damages or shortages occur. Own the investigation process of shortages, overages and damages of shipments to distribution centers with clear communication to all levels of the Supply Chain Function.
  • Manage finished goods inventory for outbound shipments to ensure timely distribution of short-dated product, preventing expiration
  • Ability to train and develop warehouse personnel in shipping and receiving, logistics and processes
  • Review and reconcile financial data related to costs of transportation. Ability to analyze financial data to identify logistical cost savings opportunities.
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
  • Serve as leadership support to the Supply Chain Manager for higher functioning responsibilities, including: hosting daily team meeting, attendance of Leadership Tier Meetings, Payroll Management, as well as higher level operational responsibilities.
