About The Position

The Warehouse Manager will report to the National Distribution manager and be responsible for managing our Cape Girardeau warehouse and all related processes, including receiving, storing, and distributing inventory. This includes overseeing all daily activities within the warehouse such as inbound and outbound shipping, labeling, and storing parts, picking work orders, verifying accurate inventory counts, and ensuring that we always achieve our delivery goals. The ideal candidate will have an automotive background and proven experience as a warehouse manager. Currently this includes a staff of 45, a fleet of 25 trucks and a 100K square foot facility, but we are growing!

Requirements

  • 3+ years of supervisory and warehouse management experience
  • Delivery operations experience and knowledge of warehousing systems
  • The ability to communicate effectively with the store team and management
  • Able to work independently while making decisions and optimizing processes for efficiency and accuracy
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Experience with warehouse inventory software, Motive and Paycom and Cintas
  • Ability to work at heights and regularly move and lift up to 100 pounds
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Need to be able to operate a manual vehicle
  • Will need to have a flexible schedule and be able to work some Saturdays.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive parts and tires experience is a plus
  • Prior forklift experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily activities of the 100K square foot facility, including all shipping and receiving functions
  • Hire, supervise, train and mentor warehouse employees. The current staff includes 45 employees.
  • Ensure that all employees are trained on safe work practices and that those safe work practices are followed to support a safe work environment
  • Set priorities, goals, and deadlines to ensure we are meeting or exceeding SLAs at all times
  • Monitor in-stock positions and react to inventory needs to ensure store delivery schedules are met
  • Receive shipments, log into inventory, and maintain inventory levels through consistent audits
  • Develop and maintain inventory/security controls to prevent shrinkage/loss
  • Assist in accurately pulling, filling, packing, and staging orders
  • Organize shipment priorities and stage orders in uniform fashion for ease of loading and verification
  • Assist with the loading of delivery trucks
  • Manage driver-related issues including drug screens & licensing and handles fleet issues including DOT compliance
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area as well as maintaining the warehouse in a safe, secure, and organized manner
  • Manage Safety and HAZMAT compliance for the facility
  • Processes returns accurately and in a timely manner
  • Order uniforms, wheels and lug nuts and other items if necessary
  • Pay certain warehouse specific bills
  • Help schedule building maintenance
  • Ensure all equipment is stored and secured at the end of day
  • Ensure preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and warehouse equipment
  • Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required
  • Assist with the implementation of a new Warehouse Management System and ensure teammates are trained accordingly
  • Additional duties as assigned required
