Responsible for managing the daily operations of the location’s delivery services, and warehousing and storage operations to assure maximum utilization and efficiency of facility personnel and equipment while maintaining full compliance with regulatory, safety, and organization guidelines.

Requirements

  • Specific site qualifications and progression may apply, consult with local team
  • 3+ years’ experience in agriculture or related industry, preferably in a sales or management role
  • High school diploma or GED; may be offset by experience; agriculture or related degree helpful
  • Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy
  • Excellent working knowledge of product chemistry
  • Knowledgeable of grower production practices and ag technology systems; knowledgeable with the wide range of products sold
  • Great computer and financial skills
  • Strong interpersonal/managerial/customer service skills to deal effectively with a broad base of customers, suppliers, and location personnel
  • Ability to adapt well to frequent changes in sales priorities in product mix sold, supplier programs, work schedules, and demands of a changing customer base
  • Ability to communicate with associates and customers
  • Ability to read, count, and write, to accurately complete all documentation
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand, talk, and hear. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. The employee is also regularly required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety regulations and guidelines
  • Manages the warehouse and storage facilities within all OSHA, DOT, EPA, and GreenPoint Ag EHS guidelines
  • Directs the daily product delivery schedule to ensure an emphasis is placed on customer service
  • Trains, motivates, and evaluates warehouse personnel, loader operators, applicator operators and truck drivers on the safe and efficient use of equipment and vehicles
  • Receives and inspects all incoming products for quantity, quality, and condition of product
  • Develops and maintains local emergency procedures and fire prevention programs and trains location personnel in proper response procedures
  • Monitors product inventory and continuously works with GreenPoint Ag wholesale distribution and other retail facilities to transfer/receive product; orders product, verifies accuracy and condition of product received
  • Serves as a working manager, performing hands-on warehouse duties alongside the team on a regular basis
  • Actively participates in daily warehouse operations, including operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Performs physical tasks such as loading, unloading, staging, moving, and organizing inventory
  • Utilizes computer systems daily for inventory management, shipping/receiving, reporting, and electronic communication
  • Coordinates with sales representatives to effectively manage walk-in customers and in-store sales
  • Maintains a high level of expertise to establish themselves as a reliable and credible source for agronomic knowledge
  • Maintains inventory by processing purchase orders, receivers, and matching with invoices

  • Supervises staff, including hiring, scheduling, and assigning work, reviewing performance (with your manager), and recommends salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations.
