About The Position

The position of the Warehouse Manager is to lead daily warehouse operations and personnel to accurately deliver “Same Day Service” for our customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Working knowledge of PC software Office applications- MS Word, MS Excel, Internet, and MS Outlook
  • Must be able to work closely with customers and have excellent phone skills and a Positive “Can Do” Attitude.

  • Customer and vendor relations and other duties as assigned by Operations Manager.
  • Must be familiar with all products represented by Industrial Valco and be able to educate warehouse personnel to ensure accurate shipping and receiving of material.
  • Enforce all company policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Maintain professionalism in language, appearance, and warehouse cleanliness daily.
  • Maintain a personal presence in the warehouse throughout the day. This is a working warehouse where our warehouse manager will work alongside the warehouse personnel.
  • Follow company procedures for shipping, receiving, returns, claims as outlined in our warehouse procedures manual.
  • Efficiently rack and store material in properly labeled bins and shelves.
  • Accurately pull material, properly pack material, and ship material with clean documentation.
  • Insure all items are accurately received into inventory.
  • Coordinate pick-ups and deliveries of shop jobs and other buyouts efficiently.
  • Schedule all outbound freight pick-ups.
  • Maintain 24/7 call-out service as assigned by Regional Sales Manager.
  • Lead and develop a healthy “Team Spirit” among the warehouse employees working together, working hard, and having fun.
  • Prioritize projects and job assignments to insure “Same Day Service”.
  • Manage warehouse personnel assigned to various warehouse functions (W/C, UPS, Shippers, Receiving).
  • Review warehouse personnel regularly to assess performance and give feedback for improvements. Report assessments to the Operations Manager.
  • Responsible for interviewing, recruiting, and hiring of warehouse staff with the approval of the Operations Manager.
  • Oversee training and development of warehouse employees.
  • Prepare and conduct annual evaluations for the warehouse staff in conjunction with the Operations Manager. Discuss strengths, weaknesses, career plans, and improvement plans.
  • Prepare and conduct all coach/counsel and disciplinary discussions and/or write-up notices in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
  • Keep proper record of employee daily attendance, regular hours, and overtime hours, sick or vacation time off / pay. Provide periodic reports as requested by the Payroll Department.
  • Maintain a logbook (delivery and pick-ups) for uses of company automobiles.
  • Schedule and manage building repairs and maintenance, including landscaping (RAN, BKF, DEN, HOU only), HVAC maintenance, dock plates and bumper maintenance, lighting.
  • Schedule equipment maintenance and keep records up to date on forklifts, order-pickers, and buggies.
  • Schedule and maintain routine waste disposal and maintain cleanliness of warehouse premises.
  • Ensure compliance with the fire department inspections and other matters as related to safety codes, fire codes and drill, building security, rain/flood damage.
