About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for delivering all business metrics for the warehouse(s) within the Ragozzino Foods operating system. This position is a critical leadership role responsible for strengthening warehouse operations, driving process improvements, and executing strategic initiatives that support growth, improve efficiency, and build long term operational capability for Ragozzino Foods. The Warehouse Manager will be expected to modernize systems and procedures, enhancing inventory control, and develop a high-performing team capable of supporting a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Your mandate is to build a disciplined, data driven warehouse operation that is agile, efficient, and aligned with the company’s standards for safety, quality, and customer service. This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on operational execution.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience in food manufacturing, warehouse management, or logistics is essential for this role.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate warehouse staff.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure smooth warehouse operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions.
  • Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) to maintain a safe and hygienic warehouse environment.
  • Communication: Clear and effective communication skills to collaborate with different teams and communicate instructions clearly to warehouse staff.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using warehouse management software and other relevant computer programs to track inventory and manage operations.
  • Physical Endurance: The role may involve standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in various temperature environments, so physical stamina is important.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, Food Safety.
  • Familiar with SQF certification and regulatory compliance audits.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Supervise the receipt, storage, rotation, slot verification, interplant transfers, and dispatch of raw materials and finished products. Maintain accurate inventory records and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels. Streamline material flow between facilities to better support production and shipping demands.
  • Team Management: Lead and train warehouse staff, assign tasks, and ensure they adhere to safety guidelines and standard operating procedures. Models and fosters a culture of teamwork, accountability, and values within the team and cross functionally with other teams.
  • Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure that products meet the required standards. This includes product integrity, proper storage temperatures and bring sure all inbound products are free from contamination or defects.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and enforce proper handling and storage procedures for food products.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, conveyor systems, and temperature-controlled storage units, to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Accurate Order Fulfillment: Coordinate the picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders, ensuring on time in full and accurate deliveries.
  • Cost Management: Monitor warehouse expenses, optimize processes to reduce costs, and maintain efficiency without compromising quality. Optimize space utilization to reduce dependency on outside storage.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in warehouse operations and implement strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency. Support ERP current and new business processes and system set up and maintenance. Expand dock and shipping capabilities to support second shift operations and future business growth. Reducing operational risk by minimizing paper-based processed and improving the timeliness and reliability of system transactions.
  • Communication: Liaise with other departments, such as production, procurement, customer support and logistics, to ensure a seamless flow of materials and information. Regularly communicates information and updates to leadership.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with food safety regulations and industry standards, and ensure the warehouse meets all legal and SQF requirements.
  • Environment: Maintain a clean and dust free environment maintaining the warehouse master sanitation schedule for SQF requirements.
