About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible in overseeing daily operations in the parts warehouse by overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods. The primary goal is to ensure goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently, safely, and accurately.

  • College degree preferred.
  • Heavy equipment parts sales experience may be substituted or combined with education.
  • Organization and communication skills must be highly developed.
  • Computer skills need to be broad based.

  • Familiarity with inventory and logistics software
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Basic understanding of supply chain and logistics principles
  • Physical ability to perform warehouse tasks if required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics, and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • This person must possess a valid driver’s license and Forklift Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage the annual department business plan within the branch
  • Oversee receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
  • Optimize layout for efficient storage and movement.
  • Manage warehouse equipment and ensure maintenance. Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff (pickers, packers, forklift operator, etc.)
  • Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and manage attendance of warehouse team
  • Train and evaluate team members
  • Perform regular stock checks and reconciliations through weekly mandatory Cycle Counts
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Monitor stock levels and commonality and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Implement systems to minimize stock loss, damage, or theft.
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments including transfer, returns (cores, surplus, PRE’s and scrap)
  • Coordinate with suppliers, transport companies, and internal departments.
  • Work with logistics partners and vendors to track shipments and resolve delivery issues.
  • Oversee picking, preparation and packing of orders
  • Assure quality checks with correct part and quantity including prevention and inspection for damaged or defective parts Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse layout
  • Optimize storage space and inventory flow
  • Enforce safety and housekeeping standards
  • Enforce safety regulations and ensure staff follow proper procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and maintain a clean, organized environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
