About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading a team in a safety-first culture, ensuring that all associates remain injury-free while overseeing warehouse operations. This role involves coaching and developing associates, managing performance, and ensuring efficient workflow within the warehouse. The Warehouse Manager will also be involved in hiring, training, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity, while monitoring operational metrics and addressing any issues that arise.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse distribution.
  • Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
  • Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Champion safety procedures and training to maintain a safety-first culture.
  • Oversee and develop warehouse associates through coaching and training.
  • Discuss associate performance with Sr. Warehouse Managers and create improvement plans.
  • Direct and supervise the work and productivity of warehouse associates.
  • Drive associate engagement and retention, embodying US Foods values.
  • Participate in hiring warehouse personnel in conjunction with Sr. Warehouse Managers.
  • Review performance and coach associates on productivity and safety targets.
  • Lead associates to achieve accurate order staging and loading.
  • Monitor operational information to ensure shift meets rates and follows preferred methods.
  • Designate dock locations for inbound carriers on day shift.
  • Ensure product is stocked according to food safety and FIFO processes.
  • Monitor replenishment activity to minimize potential for shorts.
  • Maintain physical condition and safety of the warehouse and equipment.
  • Work with operations management to identify sources of inventory shrink.
  • Regularly inspect the facility for safety hazards and report them as needed.
  • Ensure Master Sanitation Schedule and FSQA requirements are followed.
  • Effectively schedule working shifts using planning tools.
