About The Position

The Outbound Warehouse Manager will provide hands-on leadership to the branch and manage the entire outbound functions for multiple Bunzl companies operating within a single distribution center in City of Industry; in an accurate, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience preferred
  • Multi-business or multi-site experience preferred
  • 5+ years of prior Operations Management experience is required
  • Must be able to lift and /or move up to 55 lbs at times with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Minimal travel to additional locations to support business projects, as needed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate thinking, logic, and decision-making rationale
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all parties involved with our business
  • Positive attitude: willingness and ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Internet Research
  • Organized with a focus for details in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage all outbound warehouse operations, ensuring consistent achievement of business-specific Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) through effective resource planning, performance management, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee end-to-end outbound processes including waving, allocating, picking sheet management, order picking, packing, manifesting, validating deliveries, and all shipping functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and customer compliance.
  • Establish, monitor, and report critical business-specific outbound Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to leadership on a weekly basis, analyze results to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Act as functional expert for outbound Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Warehouse Labor Management (WLM) activities, ensuring system utilization, labor productivity, and adherence to standards.
  • Identify operational constraints and performance gaps through data analysis and root-cause investigations; lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce bottlenecks, improve throughput, and optimize cost.
  • Partner with on-site leadership and cross-functional teams to support sales growth, profitability, and working capital goals, making sound operational decisions that prioritize customer satisfaction.
  • Translate customer compliance routing guides and requirements into scalable operational processes and system solutions.
  • Coach, mentor, train, and cross-train the outbound team to build a strong succession pipeline.
  • Maintain accountability for time and attendance, payroll accuracy, monthly one-on-one meetings, and annual LEAP reviews.
  • Actively support outbound operations during high demand periods or operational challenges, stepping in as needed to assist with conveyor picking to maintain workflow continuity.
  • Provide operational backup when staffing gaps or increased volume require additional support, including safely handling bins weighing approximately 55 lbs.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and company policies.
