About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of one of the largest distribution centers within the Book Fair organization. This role involves scheduling, directing, and executing warehouse activities, analyzing performance metrics, and implementing processes to improve operational efficiency. The Warehouse Manager will also be responsible for recruiting and training staff, maintaining safety and cleanliness standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Management, Industrial Management, Business, Transportation, Production, or Operations related curriculum preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years Management experience in a production or distribution environment.
  • Facilities shift management or supervisory experience is a must.
  • Proven ability to manage a high quality, efficient, and cost-effective operation.
  • Ability to analyze, initiate, and implement plans to achieve budgeted and forecasted goals.
  • Inventory control experience with hands-on management of warehouse products is preferred.
  • Fleet/Logistics management experience is a plus.
  • Forklift certified preferred.
  • Clear motor vehicle record.
  • Must be physically able to push and handle in excess of 300lbs and lift and carry up to 50lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, RF scanner knowledge, AS400 and Microsoft Office experience.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, direct, and execute day-to-day warehouse activities in conjunction with Ops Manager.
  • Analyze key metrics to establish performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement programs and processes in accordance with Ops Manager directives.
  • Manage fair quality processes, production planning, customer orders, and aisle integrity standards.
  • Recruit, interview, select, train, develop, evaluate, discipline, and terminate Warehouse Associates.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and control labor hours based on volume and budget.
  • Plan and conduct regular performance meetings with Warehouse Associates.
  • Conduct staff meetings to inform and recognize Associates and exchange ideas.
  • Support branches with onboarding, training, and operational support activities as needed.
  • Execute company policies and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Secure and maintain assets to minimize product damage and work-related injuries.
  • Maintain business confidentiality regarding personnel and operational matters.
