About The Position

This position, reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, is responsible for all activities related to distribution operations. This includes executing all receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, and packing of construction supply material, as well as dispatching delivery trucks for delivery of construction supply material. The role involves providing general assistance, including pulling and staging orders, performing bin location maintenance, and ensuring the safety, organization, and cleanliness of the warehouse. The associate will also assist in conducting cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy, attend safety training and meetings, and follow rules and regulations. Key duties include performing forklift inspections and operations, communicating consistently with management and all branch personnel, and potentially performing receiving and shipping functions such as verifying inventory against purchase orders, receiving inventory into the NEFCO ERP software system, staging/shelving inventory, using RF technology to pick orders, sending picked orders to the packing department, packing goods according to NEFCO processes, and loading trucks in a specified sequence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Ability to use NEFCO’s ERP software system
  • Ability to use warehouse layouts for planning purposes
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must have a positive, hard-working attitude
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to stands on concrete floor for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work in various climate conditions such as cold, heat, humidity for a long period of time
  • Ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl and twist for lifting
  • Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (including forklifts) and be recertified
  • Must be detail-oriented and hands on ‘roll up the sleeves’ type with aptitude for multi-tasking and adapting to a fast-paced environment with ever changing priorities

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, or Outlook a plus

Responsibilities
