The Warehouse Lead in Franklin WI will be a key stakeholder for a new 340,000 square foot conversion facility and will play an integral part of Saputo’s strategy to optimize its cheese network in North America. Saputo has a strong history in Wisconsin and are proud to be expanding our footprint in this area. The Warehouse Lead supports and coordinates warehouse and shipping department activities to drive efficient operations on assigned shifts and areas. This includes coordinating and assigning customer orders, shipments, receiving product, addressing product and employee concerns, and problem resolving. This person supports Company’s policies/procedures, while leveraging all CI processes and tools. How you will make contributions that matter... Leads a shift of team members, coordinating shipping and/or warehouse operations including shipping schedules, loading operations and material handling activities. Perform product inventory activities, confirming physical inventory quantity and location, reporting variances. Perform employing training for new employees, current employees, actively communicating procedures and workflow. Document training progression to include training gaps and opportunities. Monitor and communicate employees’ work schedules to meet needs of business. Provide scheduling support to backfill vacancies to minimize department operation disruption. Recommends improvements to reduce cost and drive productivity within the department while achieving the targeted Sales to Service Goals. Perform all required SAP transactions, complete all required documentation. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Maintains time and shipping records as required. Prepare required reports. Ensures the warehouse work areas are clean and always organized. Coordinate product rework activities. Collaborate, communicate, and provide cross-functional support with other departments to minimize warehouse operations disruption. Perform back-up Warehouse Driver responsibilities when required. Perform back-up Shipping Clerk responsibilities when required. Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies.
  • Lift truck certification or the ability to obtain a lift truck certification (Powered Industrial Trucks).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications, SAP a plus.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Are highly organized with ability to prioritize and pay attention to the details.
  • Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.

  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/ walking/ bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
  • Physical lifting up to 40-lbs unassisted frequently throughout the shift.
  • Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, and following approved chemical handling procedures.
