About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Lead is responsible for the daily leadership and coordination of all shop-floor functions and activities with their shift, helping to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the department and to foster and support a positive work environment. POSITION RESPONSIBILITES: Forklift Operation & On-Floor Supervision Distributing product, raw materials and scrap within Molding, Printing and Warehouse departments Assist with order picking and staging areas – goal is to ensure as many loads as possible are picked and loaded Using RF scanner to record movement of product Loading and unloading of product onto trailers Reconcile and investigate scanning errors when possible Plant & Equipment Safety Ensures all team members are trained and performing in a safe and efficient manner Be involved in the accident/incident program; determine root causes, corrective actions and following-up to ensure completion Correct unsafe acts or conditions, ensuring health and safety policies are followed Perform daily unplanned inspections. Ensure that inspection is appropriately documented Administration Preparation of all shipping documentation Ensure proper manpower staffing allocation Ensure production quality meets customer standards Planning and loading of trailers for city deliveries and inter-warehouse transfers Advise truck drivers as to shipping direction Transferring Resin from Railcar Receiving resin deliveries and ensuring the proper hook up and use of the silo system (required to stoop or lift up the 40lbs) Obtaining samples from each bunk (4 in each railcar) and sending to Quality Department for analysis Direct Reports on Shift Include: Forklift Operators and Company Truck Drivers

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, post-secondary education preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity
  • Valid Forklift license, a counterbalance and reach truck
  • must have good command of the English language both verbal and written

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a lean manufacturing environment and previous experience with 5S, Six sigma and TPS, preferred
  • Knowledge of HACCP and WHMIS
