About The Position

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for assisting the Warehouse/CDL Manager in directing and coordinating the entire warehouse operations.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
• Ability to motivate and lead a large team
• Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
• Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight weighing up to 100 pounds
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1+ year of experience in leadership and transportation industry preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in training new warehouse staff
• Ability to assist in parking/fueling of vehicles and cover routes when needed
• Ensure trailer cuts are made for timely delivery to branches
• Communicate with warehouse staff and other management to resolve discrepancies
• Manage security of the yard and building
• Coach and document conflicts and escalate to warehouse management
• Assist in stacking and sorting to ensure the flow of freight
• Ability to cover various shifts
• Perform other required duties as assigned
