The Warehouse Lead serves as a working lead, actively performing warehouse duties while assisting management with workflow coordination, training, and accountability of warehouse personnel. This position supports daily warehouse operations while providing hands-on leadership to warehouse staff. This role is responsible for coordinating receiving, shipping, inventory accuracy, and customer order fulfillment while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with company procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment required
  • Prior experience as a Material Handler required
  • Strong verbal communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication/division) for inventory counts, order accuracy, and shipping/receiving verification
  • Forklift operation experience required (certification preferred or ability to obtain)
  • Proficient with computers, inventory management systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain working knowledge of the full sales and order fulfillment process, from order entry through billing and delivery.
  • Coordinate and oversee material receiving, put-away, picking, staging, and shipping activities.
  • Verify that all outgoing orders are accurate and accompanied by appropriate documentation.
  • Receive and enter inventory into the warehouse sub-ledger/computer system.
  • Perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication/division) to verify order quantities, inventory counts, and shipping/receiving documentation.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Pull customer orders, stock shelves, and assist customers as needed.
  • Deliver materials to customer locations as required.
  • Maintain awareness of all products sold and markets served by the company.
  • Work with management to maintain appropriate minimum stock levels.
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for warehouse staff in the absence of management.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new warehouse employees.
  • Assign daily tasks and help prioritize workflow to meet customer and delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor adherence to safety rules, company policies, and operational procedures.
  • Communicate operational issues, shortages, or concerns to management promptly.
  • Lead by example in attendance, safety practices, productivity, and customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
