About The Position

The Warehouse Lead contributes to the efficient operation of the warehouse by providing direct leadership to warehouse workers at the Branch Office. This role involves performing various operations such as unloading, picking, packing, counting, and checking items to maintain inventory. The Warehouse Lead serves as the most experienced and skilled warehouse associate, often tasked as a section team leader responsible for the daily activities of specific sections like receiving, checker, assembler, freezer, cooler, or shipping. The position operates under minimal supervision and is expected to fill in for the Warehouse Supervisor as necessary.

Requirements

  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter
  • Ability to handle complex issues and problems, and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to warehouse associates
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under various time constraints
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of the warehouse environment
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to correctly follow a given rule or set of rules to arrange things or actions in a certain order
  • Ability to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate material handler equipment proficiently
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English
  • Physically strong, agile, nimble, and undeterred by heights and adverse climatic conditions
  • Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance
  • Available to work extended hours

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the efficient operation of the warehouse by providing direct leadership to warehouse workers at the Branch Office
  • Performs various operations, including unloading, picking, packing, counting, and checking items to maintain inventory
  • Serves as the most experienced/skilled warehouse associate and is usually tasked as a section team leader
  • Responsible for the daily activity of either the receiving, checker, assembler, freezer, cooler, or shipping section
  • Performs work under minimal supervision
  • Fills in for Warehouse Supervisor as necessary
  • Ensure the warehouse operation meets targeted completion times on each route to facilitate the reduction of over-time
  • Ensures all warehouse workers have the necessary tools to complete each assembly safely and accurately
  • Observe and coaches warehouse associates on the company expectation and report any inefficiency to supervisors and managers
  • Assist supervisors and managers in the motivation, coaching, and teaching of assemblers in safety, services, procedures, and equipment
  • Hand select orders within various warehouse environments of fluctuating temperatures (dry, cooler, and freezer)
  • Manually lift and move product to stock, assemble, and repack ensuring accuracy and proper rotation
  • Package finished product for shipping (Shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
  • Stages finished product for loading
  • Responsible for quality control
  • Ensure that no damaged products are sent out, and no damaged products will be stored
  • Perform preventive maintenance on forklifts, and palette jacks
  • Handle inventory movement into and out of controlled locations
  • Prepare customers’ orders for delivery
  • Provide fill-in support for other departments in the warehouse
  • Other duties as assigned
