At CHS, we are creating connections to empower agriculture.SummaryCHS Inc. has an exciting opportunity at our Woodlawn, IL Agronomy location! We are looking for a Warehouse Lead to join our team. This individual will be responsible for loading and unloading trailers, moving pallets, completing documentation, and supporting truck drivers and warehouse staff. Duties include inventory management, equipment operation, load creation and dispatch, and scheduling truck maintenance. This role is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM. During our busy season there could be potential for an occasional half-day Saturdays.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Warehouse Operations
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background screen

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Ability to perform math related to order counts and inventory management
  • Computers skills involving microsoft applications
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior warehouse experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform all job functions within the warehouse including loading/unloading trailers, moving pallets of product, palletizing product, picking orders and completing documentation.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area and workstations neat/clean and complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Act as work Lead, providing work direction to less experienced co-works and assist in training new employees.
  • Manage product inventory and follow first in-first out shipping and rotation principles.
  • Complete shipping, receiving and inspection documents neatly and accurately.
  • Operate equipment for loading and unloading. This includes operating an fork lift.
  • Scheduling basic preventative maintenance and assist maintenance techs as needed.
  • Follow all Hazardous safety rules and procedures.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
