About The Position

GPJ is seeking a Warehouse Lead to manage the daily operations of a team of Warehouse Specialists at their Smyrna, TN office, requiring a minimum of 5 days per week on-site. The role involves leading and managing the team on assigned jobs, setting staff working hours with manager oversight, and organizing client lots for efficient warehouse layout and storage. The Lead will also manage job timelines and deadlines, identify production difficulties, set achievable goals for the team, and communicate workload changes to stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include department time tracking, file organization, training, and continuous skill improvement. Requirements

  • Ability to communicate clearly in a timely fashion verbally and through written text
  • General competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. without assistance
  • High school diploma
  • 3 years of industry related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Smartsheet or other Project Management/productivity software
  • Significant experience or knowledge of the exhibit industry, specifically regarding warehouse setup, staffing and management

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily operation of a team of Warehouse Specialists
  • Lead and manage the Warehouse Specialists on all assigned jobs
  • Set the working hours required for the warehouse staff assigned with oversight from the Warehouse Manager
  • Organize assigned client lot regarding warehouse layout and storage needs with regards to racking and efficient utilization of limited space
  • Manage job timelines and deadlines
  • Identify potential difficulties in upcoming production tasks
  • Dictate goals that are achievable by your team
  • Communicate upstream and downstream to all relevant stakeholders regarding department workload and changes as necessary

  • Additional tasks directed by the Warehouse Manager
  • Leading and overseeing jobs
  • Informing the Project Manager about specific purchases needed

  • Organizing and tracking all production items
  • Using GPJ inventory systems for client-owned inventory
