About the position

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Supervisor in coordinating and supervising the operations of the warehouse during the 2nd shift. This role involves direct support to warehouse associates, ensuring that operational objectives are met efficiently and accurately while maintaining a strong presence on the warehouse floor.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in prioritizing warehouse operations workload.
• Guide warehouse associates to meet daily business demands through active leadership.
• Follow all safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Administer auditing of truck maps, pallets, and ensure safe loading of trucks.
• Help employees resolve issues with picks, subs, outs, and product location.
• Participate in the orientation and training of new hires and refresher training for existing employees.
• Assist in all areas of the warehouse, including freezer, cooler, and dry areas.
• Operate industrial equipment safely and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Maintain acceptable production levels until job completion.
• Keep work area clean and free of damaged products.
• Coordinate coverage for scheduled time off with the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Prepare driver boards, invoicing, and backhaul sheets.
• Assist with shift start-up meetings.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department and the company.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in a warehouse setting
• Ability to perform duties of a selector, loader, receiver, and forklift operator
• Comprehension of basic warehouse operations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Must be able to obtain Forklift Certification
