About The Position

The Warehouse Laborer & Truck Driver is responsible for driving trucks, making deliveries to and from jobsites, and the overall maintenance of the yard, warehouse, and office buildings at the Cape Associates Eastham location.

Requirements

High school/trade school graduate or equivalent training and a minimum of three years' experience managing and operating tools, equipment, and warehouse.
OSHA 10 Certified
Must be technologically savvy and have experience with computers, iPhones, and tool barcoding systems.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions while retaining information
Must be willing to learn and take initiative
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 80 pounds.
Physically fit and able to perform various tasks that include standing, climbing, lifting, walking, reaching, crawling, etc.
Ability to work in hard-to-reach places.
Must be able to work in various weather conditions including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.

Responsibilities

Truck Driver
Job site trash removal
Tool and equipment pick up and deliveries
Trailering
Plowing (this may require off-hours, overtime work)
Tool and equipment tracking, complete knowledge of the bar-coding system, help to facilitate getting tools and equipment to foremen/job sites upon request, follow up on lost tools
Monitor condition of tools and note that in the system
Roll the parking lots once a week with magnet
Help to clean, organize, and maintain two “Receiving” bays with bay floors to be always as clear as possible
Dispose of roofing tar, contact cement, oil-based paints, and all hazardous building materials legally (Discourage return to shop of hazardous materials and paints)
Empty all office trash in both locations once a day and as needed
Perform small maintenance duties such as changing light bulbs, as needed, in all office buildings
Maintain and clean snowplow(s) and gas grille
Maintain and organize yard, parking areas, signs, receiving areas, dumpster, fences, racks, ladders, and tarps
Manage toxic shed - check for container leakage and secure/lock at end of day
Test and maintain sign and building lights and timer
Receive and assist in unloading deliveries, checking in orders, and distributing to project managers, job sites, or store in warehouse.
Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
Mark materials with date received, job name, and Project Manager along with any other necessary identifying information
Prepare return orders for mailing or pick up
Return unneeded items whenever possible
Keep list of job surplus items in warehouse and yard that can be utilized/taken (i.e. insulation, extra windows/doors, appliances, flooring) and email project managers on a weekly or bi-weekly basis
Assist in the counting of physical inventory monthly
Includes updating the inventory within the computer system
Track company trailers and locations
Wash fleet vehicles regularly
Assist with daily shipping and receiving
Wear the proper safety equipment for all duties
