About The Position

The Warehouse Journeyman is responsible for receiving, identifying, labeling, storing, and issuing materials to support project operations. This role maintains accurate inventory records, tracks material usage, and ensures materials, tools, and equipment are available to crews as needed. The Warehouse Journeyman performs inventory control activities, supports audits, and operates warehouse equipment and vehicles while maintaining organization, safety, and quality standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of four or more years of experience in warehouse operations, material management, or construction site logistics, preferably supporting industrial or commercial construction projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of material handling, inventory control, and warehouse organization practices.
  • Ability to read and understand material lists, packing slips, purchase orders, safety standards, and basic project documentation.
  • Experience operating warehouse or material handling equipment is preferred.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate with field supervision and craft personnel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew, supervisors, and project teams.
  • Receive, inspect, identify, tag, and properly store incoming materials and equipment.
  • Issue materials, tools, and supplies to craft personnel while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Maintain organized warehouse and laydown yard areas to ensure efficiency and safe operations.
  • Track inventory levels and notify supervision when materials or supplies need to be reordered.
  • Perform inventory counts, cycle counts, and support internal or external audits.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, telehandlers, pallet jacks, or company vehicles as required.
  • Produce high quality work safely and productively at all times.
  • Provide feedback to ensure materials, tools, equipment, and information are available to support project work.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes related to material handling, storage, and distribution.
  • Learn and understand all safety hazards related to warehouse, yard, and material handling operations.
  • Utilize basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing to support inventory tracking.
  • Eliminate waste such as excess handling, unnecessary movement, material loss, or storage inefficiencies.
