About The Position

The Warehouse Janitor at Essendant Co. is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the warehouse environment. This full-time position involves various janitorial tasks, ensuring that all areas are clean and safe for employees and visitors. The role requires adherence to safety guidelines and the ability to operate cleaning equipment effectively.

Requirements

• Janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to perform all required tasks according to established safety rules and guidelines.
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
• Ability to understand simple directions (verbal and written) in English.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, and polishes floors.
• Operates a power scrubber to clean floors as required.
• Vacuums carpets in common areas and offices.
• Removes and disposes of trash from all areas.
• Breaks down and bundles carton boxes for recycling; places boxes in bailer machine for consolidation.
• Cleans common areas, including tables, chairs, countertops, drinking fountains, doors, windows (inside and outside), refrigerators, microwaves, sinks, and eye wash stations.
• Uses cleansers and machinery in a safe manner according to manufacturers' specifications.
• Cleans and provides supplies for restrooms.
• Removes snow and ice from sidewalks, entrance areas, and dock doors as needed.
• Spreads de-icing salt as appropriate; maintains log.
• Understands and demonstrates United Stationers' Core Values.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
