About The Position

The Warehouse Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for coordinating and performing the shipping and receiving of material within the warehouse and yard. This role will manage and maintain incoming and outgoing government, commercial, and company property. The position is responsible for maintaining an inventory of office consumables along with shipping and packaging items.  This position is responsible for ensuring an accurate and timely response to material inquiries, performing inventory reconciliations, material kitting, maintaining control and reporting systems, and any shipping/receiving documentation required by management, the customer, or the project. This position will lead and implement best practices for accurately tracking and recording the data associated with all materials and the efficient and effective management for all deliveries and shipments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Inventory Management experience required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of forklift operating experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year warehouse support experience required.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must show proficiency with the use of computers, software, and general office equipment.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • This position requires excellent English language skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate to managers, customers or employees of the organization.
  • Display thorough knowledge of document management and working knowledge of general business and material management principles and practices.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills, developing and implementing solutions.
  • Have excellent organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail and data input skills.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment, post-offer background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or advanced degree (preferred).
  • Certification in Logistics or Inventory Control (preferred).
  • Experience with Deltek/CostPoint system (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a well-ordered and safe work environment in the warehouse, staging areas. and the yard.
  • Maintains and enters data accurately in enterprise systems.
  • Maintains systems and processes for tracking and reporting materials and equipment.
  • Verifies purchase requisition and purchase order details against the delivery paperwork.
  • Verifies quantity of shipment received against the order and project.
  • Works with Program, Project, and Construction Managers and Field Service and Customer Representatives on material deliveries, performing system setup, configurations and testing.
  • Performs the kitting of material for delivery to the projects and staging areas.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date data documentation on all shipments both in and out of the warehouse.
  • Monitors and confirms loaded shipments leaving the warehouse and confirms all paperwork is accurate before the shipment departs.
  • Packs and ships inventory as directed based on business and project demands.
  • Schedules transportation for delivery of materials and kits to the project site.
  • Ensures safety of shipment by using appropriate packaging and handling methods in accordance with best practices.
  • Monitors and reports on inventory supply and reorders based on approved and required inventory needs.
  • Manages damaged and non-conformance goods; ensuring returns occur in a timely manner and communicates the return and credit information to Accounts Payable.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records and logs.  Submits weekly and monthly logs to Program, Project, and Construction Managers for project reviews.
  • Supports the Warehouse and Fleet Manager in specialty projects or work tasks as assigned.
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program.
  • Attend daily and weekly safety meetings, on-site field safety briefings and inspections.
  • Operate equipment within federal, state, local, and company regulations.
  • Ensure equipment operators possess the requisite certificate for equipment use
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself or endanger the wellbeing of others.
  • Cooperate with safety personnel, supervisors, managers, and investigators to ensure proper procedures are carried out according with the company and customer’s safety policies.
  • Identify and report safety violations to safety personnel, supervisors, managers.
  • Support safety meetings, training sessions, and inspections.
  • Perform accurate timecard updates daily and sign timecards weekly as required to support reporting and payroll activities.
  • Perform job related reporting requirements per contract and corporate policies and practices.
  • Create and maintain quality logs, non-conformance logs and marks material in accordance with its disposition, project, and construction manager or assigned project personnel.
  • Operate a company vehicle in accordance with local laws/regulations.
  • Operate the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
  • Keep assigned vehicle clean and orderly.
  • Report maintenance requirements and/or damage in a timely manner.
  • Works closely with other company personnel in a collaborative environment to meet organizational and project deadlines, outcomes, metrics, and mission objectives.
  • Participate as a vital crew/team member and contribute towards the success of the project and the organization.
  • Promote a team approach and maintain communications/dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas for continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Complete daily reports and timecards.
